Messages won't send

What to do when a message won't send, a conversation is missing, or someone can't reach you.

Updated October 3, 2026

A message is stuck or failed

  1. 1Check your connection and try again — messages send immediately rather than queueing.
  2. 2Leave the conversation and reopen it. A stuck send usually clears on the next open.
  3. 3If it still fails, copy your text somewhere safe, then reload the page and paste it back.

My conversation has disappeared

  • Check the tabs inside Messages — buying and selling threads and vendor threads live in separate tabs.
  • If you archived or deleted a conversation, it won't be listed.
  • If you blocked the person, the conversation is hidden until you unblock them.
  • Vendor inquiries only appear in the Vendors tab once you have at least one.

Someone says they can't message me

Your message setting may be set to followers or nobody. Open Me → Safety & privacy and check who can start a conversation with you. This setting stops new conversations only — anyone already talking to you can carry on.

A message was refused

Messages are screened for scam patterns. A link to an external payment page, or a message that looks like it's trying to move the conversation somewhere it can't be moderated, may be blocked. Ordinary messages mentioning a phone number or an address still send — you'll just see a warning.

Keep conversations in the app. It's the only place where there's a record if something goes wrong, and where reports can be acted on.
