Search and explore

How Explore works, how to search by item name or town, and how the Classifieds, Sales and Shops tabs differ.

Updated October 3, 2026

Explore is the same content as the map, shown as a scrolling feed. Use it when you want to browse rather than drive, or when you're looking for a specific thing.

The three tabs

  • Sales & events — yard sales, garage sales, markets, food trucks, festivals and community events.
  • Classifieds — individual items for sale or for rent, the kind of thing that would go in a paper classified ad.
  • Shops — permanent seller storefronts you can follow, browse and message.

Searching

  1. 1Tap the search box at the top of Explore or the map.
  2. 2Type an item ("dresser"), a category ("tools"), or a place ("Ogden").
  3. 3Tap a suggestion, or press enter to see all results.
  4. 4Use the sort control to switch between newest, nearest and price.

Search matches item names, descriptions, tags and categories — so a yard sale titled "Moving sale" still turns up if the seller tagged a dresser inside it.

Filtering results

The filter bar narrows a result set by category, price, distance and whether something is free, a bundle, or a big item that needs a truck. Filters stack — set a few and the count updates as you go.

Tap any category chip on an item page to jump straight to everything else like it. It's the fastest way to find the other three of something you only found one of.
