What is Yard Snail?

A plain-language tour of Yard Snail: a live map of yard sales, food trucks, farmers markets and pop-ups in your neighborhood, and what you can do without an account.

Updated October 3, 2026

Yard Snail is a map of what's happening in your neighborhood right now — yard sales, garage and estate sales, food trucks, farmers markets, flea markets, pop-up shops and community events. Instead of scrolling a list, you open a map and see pins for the things happening near you today.

What you can do without an account

You do not need to sign up to browse. The map, every listing page, every shop page, search, filters and directions are all open to everyone, signed in or not.

What needs a free account

  • Saving a sale or an item to your favorites
  • Following a shop and getting told when they post something new
  • Messaging a seller, making an offer, or booking a pickup time
  • Posting a sale, listing an item, or opening your own shop
  • Spotting a sale as a Snail Scout

Joining takes under a minute and needs no payment details. You can delete your account whenever you like.

Where to go next

  • Tap Map in the bottom bar to open the live map.
  • Tap Explore to browse the same listings as a scrolling feed.
  • Tap the orange + button to post something — it takes about a minute.

Yard Snail connects people; it does not handle payment. Every transaction happens in person, directly between you and the other person. That also means there are no refunds or buyer protection — inspect before you pay.
